Imran Riaz Khan, a senior journalist and broadcaster, was allegedly poisoned while in custody of the police. He tweeted the startling disclosure.

Imran Riaz Khan was travelling to Dubai, according to information given by his attorney Mian Ali Ashfaq, to undergo some medical tests for which he had a tough time getting an appointment. However, because his name was on the watch list, airport officials in Lahore prevented him from leaving Pakistan.

Imran Riaz Khan was required to depart for Dubai today on a return flight for a lab test that had to be completed right after his medical examination, for which he had a tough time securing an appointment. He was stopped at the Lahore Airport because his name was on the watch list. "You will be responsible for further deterioration [of his health]," Mian Ali Ashfaq tweeted.

Imran Riaz Khan quickly disclosed the rationale for going to Dubai. According to him, his doctors believe he was given something hazardous to consume while being held by the police. He therefore wanted to travel to Dubai for a few medical examinations to support his claim.
